VALPARAISO, IN—Jacob’s Ladder Pediatric Rehabilitation has been awarded a $9,816 grant from the Porter County Community Foundation (PCCF) to support a new developmental milestone training program for teachers and caregivers. This initiative aims to equip those working with young children with essential knowledge and tools to better understand and respond to developmental needs, ensuring that more children in Porter County can thrive from the start.

The grant is part of PCCF’s spring Community Fund grant cycle, which distributed $163,385 to 24 nonprofit organizations throughout Porter County. These grants were made possible through the generosity of community members and the Foundation’s commitment to creating a lasting impact in the areas of education, health and human services, youth programs and more.

“We are overjoyed to be able to partner with Hilltop Neighborhood House to provide our Milestone Certification program and weekly trainings to the teachers and staff there. This will create an environment where children’s milestone achievement can be supported and accelerated,” said Mariann Frigo, Executive Director of Jacob’s Ladder Pediatric Rehabilitation.

The new training program will offer in classroom workshops and resources for both educators and caregivers, focusing on practical strategies to observe, track, and support key developmental milestones. It builds on Jacob’s Ladder’s long-standing commitment to compassionate, evidence-based pediatric care and early intervention.

Jacob’s Ladder is honored to be among the local organizations recognized by PCCF this cycle. Other grantees include The Caring Place, Valpo Parks Foundation, Dunes Learning Center, and more, all contributing to the vibrant network of services and support in Porter County.
